Finding Meaning and Hope
How can I get support and guidance as a Veteran Caregiver or Caregiver of a Veteran?
About the Finding Meaning and Hope Discussion Series
Finding Meaning and Hope is based on Dr. Boss’s book Loving Someone Who Has Dementia: How to Find Hope While Dealing With Stress and Grief.
Finding Meaning and Hope is a program designed to support family caregivers of people with dementia or other cognitive impairments. It is a 10-session discussion series that is free of charge and offered around the United States through virtual and in-person meetings.
This program was developed in partnership with the internationally known caregiver grief expert, Dr. Pauline Boss to help:
- Provide a better understanding of the complex grief and loss experienced when caring for someone with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Give family caregivers of individuals with dementia a community of support and a “tool kit” of skills to focus on self-care and resiliency in their caregiving experience.
Two new veteran/veteran family caregiver specific series of Finding Meaning & Hope are planned to start in the fall of 2024 specifically for:
- Military and veteran families
- Veterans who are family caregivers caring for an individual with dementia (civilian or veteran); and
- Family caregivers (civilian or veteran) caring for a veteran with dementia.
